We went on a rain walk today. But we weren't prepared for how wet it would be!!!
We started off at 11 AM (we were walking). First, we posted an important letter for dad, and then we walked a little more until we came to Manor Park. It was only drizzling then, not really raining!!! Then it started to sprinkle a little faster, until we had to run for cover (even with our coats on!!) The worst part was that Jimmy didn't bring a coat, so he was the most wet in the end. Anyway, we stood under some trees for a little while, (Manor Park has a lot of trees) and as we were close to a gate that led us out of the park, we went through it, and out onto the pavement. But the pavement just happened to be at the end of Manor Park road - and Manor Park road just happens to be a very long road...and that combined with the(now pouring) rain...well, I think you can guess. We literally had to tear up the street, with the rain lashing in our faces, and Jimmy...well, Jimmy said afterwards that "it was soooo FUN!!! I want to do that AGAIN, mom!!!" ..even though he was the one who had got the worst of it!!!!!!
Anyway, we all ended up soaked, especially me, because my new shoes are the opposite of waterproof.
When we got home, we had tea and a biscuit, while mom read some 'Oliver Twist' and our clothes dried on the radiators.
It's still been raining since, (showers and sun and more showers etc.)but I'm glad we got inside when we did!!!
